TBM Rail, which works closely with Franke Sissons, the specialist commercial washroom manufacturers to design, produce and install washrooms for rolling-stock throughout the country, were able to provide a turn-key solution utilising Franke's Miranit granite composite material.

Miranit from Franke, is a stable and elegant resin bonded mineral granite that is exceptionally hardwearing and perfect for the demanding environment of washrooms on trains.

Victoria Himsworth, product marketing manager for Franke explains, "There were no technical drawings available for the basins, so working with TBM we produced 3D model examples of sinks using Miranit and stainless steel. Our designers and engineers adapted and re-configured until we had the right combination of aesthetics, durability and performance. The basins will last a very long time thanks to the inherent properties of Miranit."

The Miranit basin, pictured above is now being installed across the 220 strong fleet. Miranit is hygienic as it is pore free, it is easy to clean as it resists lime scale and bacteria and will not burn, shatter or crack. Miranit is the ideal choice for bespoke specification.
