It’s frozen points and leaves on the tracks “silly season” as far as the railway industry is concerned, but at TBM we have been full steam ahead regardless of the great British weather. Here’s a round-up of recent goings-on at our Crewe base, and at client depots around the UK…

Posh frocks and bow ties at UKRIA18!

We’re on the shortlist! That’s right, for work with Hull Trains and (more recently) TransPennine, we are up for a railway gong at the UK Railway Industry Awards that take place next March in London. In the "Product and Service Innovation – Product" category, our development, sourcing and roll-out of rail-approved slimline power and USB sockets for new and old carriages has a great success.

There are some superb rail firms on the list, and all at TBM are looking forward to a great night at the awards. Check out the full shortlist that details all categories...

Up-skilling the workforce

We love seeing happy, smiling staff. That happened this month when Jason became the latest TBM employee to get his licence to drive and operate our mid-size vehicles with a trailer. That means he can help out with various client deliveries and pick-ups. Well done him. Read more HERE....

Wowser, that bowser!

Cheesy headlines aside, we’ve had great feedback from clients around the UK about the additional bowser support TBM can now offer to fleet depots. Not all facilities can empty train and bus toilet tanks, so being able to get on site, empty a tank before cleaning, then get on with the main job of flushing through pipe work is a huge bonus for everyone concerned. The TBM team can get the contracted work done, and the client is happy.

Previously, on occasions, arriving on site and not being able to remove a tank because it’s been full has been incredibly frustrating. Wasted call-out, disappointed client, and the passengers suffer because another unit remains out of action.

So get in touch if you’d like to know more about our toilet tank overhauls, on-site cleaning, bowser tank and more. Call the TBM office on 0844 800 8577.

Seat cover heroes

Quick shout for the TBM team that receives, checks, repairs, removes major stains and dirt, then dry-cleans thousands of train seat covers each week. This year, alongside several other seat cover contracts, they have consistently delivered on time for Bombardier at the Central Rivers depot (near Burton), serving the Virgin Voyager Class 220 fleet. It means happy customers sitting on clean and hygienic fabric. Get in touch if you’d like to discuss options for your fleet… 0844 800 8577.

Have you met the TBM elves?

Thankfully, the people who work at TBM are usually up for a laugh. From mid-December onwards, when the Christmas tree, assorted decorations and the first mince pies came out, there have been Santa hats, elves’ hats and ears, and even a dashing pink “Santa Baby” hat that the TBM ladies were rather fond of. It’s been a light-hearted atmosphere while everyone got on with the usual workload. Here’s hoping you’ve enjoyed a few smiles leading up to Christmas yourselves.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

That’s almost it for 2017. Another great year that seems to have flown by. Many thanks to all of our customers who have continued to put faith in TBM’s passenger comfort services. We’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year. See you all in 2018…
