TBM Secures First Contract with Stadler Rail at Crown Point Depot
TBM is proud to announce a significant milestone in its continued growth within the rail sector – securing its first order with Stadler Rail. This new partnership marks an important step forward, with TBM now delivering Controlled Emission Toilet (CET) flushing services at Crown Point Depot.
Located in Norwich, Crown Point Depot is a key hub for the maintenance and servicing of modern rolling stock, including Greater Anglia’s Stadler-built fleets. The depot has undergone major redevelopment in recent years to support these new trains, introducing upgraded servicing facilities and specialist equipment designed for next-generation rail operations.
Supporting Stadler’s Class 755 & Class 756 Fleets
As part of this new contract, TBM is responsible for flushing CET systems on Stadler’s British Rail Class 755 and British Rail Class 756 fleets.
These modern trains represent a step-change in passenger comfort and environmental performance. Unlike older rolling stock, they are equipped with controlled emission toilet systems that store waste onboard, requiring specialist servicing and handling at depots such as Crown Point. The depot itself has been upgraded with enhanced toilet servicing facilities to accommodate this technology.
TBM’s role is therefore critical, not only in maintaining hygiene standards but also in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and supporting efficient fleet operations.
A First for TBM
This contract represents several key “firsts” for TBM:
- First collaboration with Stadler Rail
- First operations at Crown Point Depot
- First involvement supporting these specific Stadler fleets
Working within a modern, high-specification depot environment alongside leading industry partners highlights TBM’s capability to deliver specialist rail services at the highest standard.
Crown Point Depot: A Modern Rail Hub
Crown Point Depot has been at the heart of East Anglia’s rail operations since opening in 1982. Today, it stands as a modernised centre of excellence following substantial investment to support Stadler’s fleet.
Recent upgrades include:
- Advanced maintenance and servicing infrastructure
- Dedicated facilities for CET handling
- Equipment designed for low-floor, high-tech train units
- Enhanced capacity for new-generation rolling stock
These improvements ensure the depot can efficiently support a fleet of 58 Stadler trains, reinforcing its importance to the region’s rail network.
Strengthening TBM’s Position in Rail
Winning this contract demonstrates TBM’s growing reputation within the rail industry. By working with a globally recognised manufacturer like Stadler and operating at a flagship depot such as Crown Point, TBM continues to expand its footprint in specialist rail services.
This achievement reflects:
- Proven expertise in CET servicing
- Ability to integrate into complex depot environments
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence
Looking Ahead
As TBM continues to build relationships with key industry partners, this project represents a strong foundation for future collaboration and growth.
The company looks forward to supporting Stadler and depot operations at Crown Point, ensuring the highest standards of service for modern rail fleets and contributing to the reliability and sustainability of the UK rail network.
